We are seeking a licensed Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a 10-day locum tenens assignment at a Multi-Specialty Clinic in Virginia. Starting 06/02/2025, this role requires expertise in adult cardiac surgery and general thoracic surgery. The surgeon will work Monday through Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm in clinic and OR, with 24-hour call coverage. Key responsibilities include performing a wide range of procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafts, aortic surgeries, heart valve repairs/replacements, and thoracic endoscopies. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a comprehensive cardiothoracic surgery program using the Epic electronic health record system, with potential for extension.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Perform adult cardiac surgeries, including CABG and redo coronary revascularization
• Conduct aortic surgeries, including descending aortic aneurysm repairs
• Execute heart valve repair and replacement procedures
• Carry out general thoracic surgeries, including lung resections and pneumonectomy
• Perform flexible and rigid bronchoscopies • Conduct chest wall resections and reconstructions
• Manage mediastinal surgeries • Perform thoracotomies and tube thoracostomies
• Execute arterial revascularization using various grafts
• Conduct pericardial window procedures
• Perform CoreValve® System heart valve replacements
• Utilize Epic electronic health record system for documentation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for cardiothoracic patients
• Participate in on-call duties as scheduled
• Ensure adherence to best practices in cardiothoracic surgery
• Adapt to the specific needs of a multi-specialty clinic setting
