A Multi-specialty Clinic in Maryland is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner specializing in Critical Care Medicine for a locum tenens assignment starting September 1, 2025, for 42 days. The schedule requires night shift coverage from 7 PM to 7 AM, Monday through This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced NP comfortable with managing critically ill patients in a Level III Trauma center setting.

LOA: 42 days (with potential for extension)

Provider Type Needed: Nurse Practitioner (Critical Care Medicine)

Schedule: 7 PM to 7 AM, Monday through Sunday, 10-14 shifts per month (possibly more)

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

- Manage day-to-day needs of post-operative cardiovascular patients and general sick patients

- Write daily progress notes

- Round on patients with nursing and surgical teams multiple times per night

- Enter and initiate appropriate orders for patients

- Transfer patients as necessary

- Interpret labs and imaging results and act upon them

- Handle procedures related to DKA, Pneumonia, and Sepsis

- Manage patients in ICU and complete admissions

- Utilize Meditech EHR for patient management and record-keeping

Additional Information:

- Experience in critical care medicine required

- Comfort with Level III Trauma center responsibilities essential

- Strong skills in managing post-operative cardiovascular patients

- Ability to handle procedures related to DKA, Pneumonia, and Sepsis

- Flexibility to work night shifts and potentially more than 14 shifts per month
