Wellhart is seeking an experienced General Surgeon for a locum tenens position in Iowa. This opportunity offers a 120-day assignment starting 06/16/2025, with full-time clinic hours Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, plus on-call responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with a wide range of duties including clinical consultations, surgical procedures (laparoscopic, open, and robotic), endoscopy, and trauma/general surgery calls. The position also offers a chance for extension.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM, plus on-call duties

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Conduct clinical consultations and follow-ups (15-60 minutes per patient)
• Perform a variety of surgical procedures (laparoscopic, open, and robotic)
• Provide endoscopy services
• Cover trauma and general surgery call
• Supervise Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
• Manage outpatient clinic and inpatient care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain high standards of patient care and safety

• Experience with trauma care and emergency surgeries
• Ability to work efficiently in both clinic and operating room settings
