Job Description

 Wellhart is seeking a licensed Physician Assistant specializing in Occupational Medicine for a 30-day locum tenens assignment at a Multi-Specialty Clinic in Virginia. Starting 07/01/2025, this role requires expertise in conducting pre-employment physicals, return-to-duty testing, DOT physicals, and managing workers' compensation injury care. The PA will work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM until close (typically 4:30 PM, but may extend due to walk-in injuries). This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic occupational health setting using the Systoc electronic health record system, with potential for extension beyond the initial 30 days.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (or until last patient seen)


Responsibilities and Duties:

• Conduct pre-employment physical examinations

• Perform return-to-duty testing for employees

• Administer DOT physicals

• Manage workers' compensation injury cases

• Provide occupational health consultations and treatments

• Assess and treat work-related injuries and illnesses

• Perform drug and alcohol screenings as required

• Conduct fitness-for-duty evaluations

• Utilize Systoc electronic health record system for documentation

• Collaborate with employers and other healthcare professionals

• Ensure adherence to occupational health and safety regulations

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

• Communicate effectively with patients, employers, and healthcare team members

• Stay updated on the latest occupational medicine practices and regulations

• Adapt to varying patient volumes, including walk-in injuries


Additional Information:

• Experience in occupational medicine is essential
