 Wellhart is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Physician Assistant for a locum tenens position at a hospital in Iowa. This 30-day assignment begins 08/01/2025, offering a Monday to Friday schedule from 8 am to 5 pm with weeknight call, but no weekends. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with a wide range of orthopedic procedures, including total joint replacements, surgical procedures for various body parts, trauma injuries, fracture care, and sports medicine. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a skilled PA to contribute to a dynamic orthopedic practice while enjoying the flexibility of locum work.

Schedule: Monday-Friday (8am-5pm), weeknight call, no weekends

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist in a variety of orthopedic procedures, including:

• Total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements
• Hand, wrist, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, and foot surgical procedures
• Trauma injuries and fracture care
• Sports medicine treatments

• Provide pre- and post-operative care to patients

• Conduct patient examinations and assessments

• Interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies

• Develop and implement treatment plans

• Collaborate with the orthopedic team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

• Maintain accurate and timely medical records using Epic (hospital) and GE Centricity (clinic) systems

• Participate in on-call duties during weeknights

Additional Information:

• Iowa Physician Assistant license required

• Strong clinical skills and experience in orthopedics
