 We are seeking a skilled Psychiatrist for a locum tenens assignment in Michigan, working through Wellhart to fill an opening at a healthcare facility. This opportunity requires coverage for 20 days, starting 08/01/2025. The position involves working in an Inpatient Psychiatric Department, with day shifts from 8 am to 5 pm and night shifts from 5 pm to 8 am, including unrestricted call if able. The psychiatrist will be responsible for treating a wide range of psychiatric disorders and should be comfortable with involuntary commitments and seclusion protocols. This role utilizes the Epic electronic health record system and offers potential for extension.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide psychiatric care for inpatients in a multi-specialty clinic setting

• Manage a diverse range of psychiatric conditions including anxiety disorders, affective disorders, ADD/ADHD, personality disorders, eating disorders, developmental disorders, psychotic disorders, and organic disorders

• Handle involuntary commitments and seclusion procedures when necessary

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care

• Utilize Epic electronic health record system for patient documentation

• Respond to referrals primarily from Muskegon and Grand Rapids Emergency Departments

• Participate in on-call duties as scheduled • Adhere to facility safety and security protocols

Additional Information:

• Valid Michigan medical license required

• Familiarity with inpatient psychiatric care and emergency referrals
