Job Description

Wellhart is seeking a Radiation Oncologist for a locum tenens position in Michigan. This 60-day assignment begins on July 7, 2025, at a multi-specialty clinic. The physician will work Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, providing a range of radiation therapy treatments and services. Responsibilities include performing various radiotherapy procedures, including conventional and 3D radiotherapy, external beam radiation techniques, stereotactic radiosurgery, and stereotactic body radiation therapy. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with ordering tests and images, prescribing treatments, and working in a collaborative clinical environment.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM


Job Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Perform conventional and 3D radiotherapy procedures
  • Conduct external beam radiation treatments, including 3D-CRT, IGRT, and IMRT
  • Carry out stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT)
  • Administer fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies
  • Prescribe appropriate radiation treatments for patients
  • Develop comprehensive treatment plans for oncology patients
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Ensure proper documentation using Aria and Epic electronic medical record systems
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Adhere to clinic protocols and best practices in radiation oncology
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives as needed


Additional Information:


  • Must be licensed to practice in Michigan
  • Proficiency in Aria and Epic electronic medical record systems required
  • Experience working in a Level 2 Trauma setting preferred
  • Strong clinical skills and decision-making abilities essential
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to clinic needs and patient volume
