Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Trauma

Job Description

We are seeking a Trauma Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 3-day locum tenens assignment in California. This position starts on Aug 8, 2025, with shifts from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m., focusing on a range of procedures from low-risk to high-risk surgeries. The ideal candidate will be responsible for tasks such as laceration repairs, IV insertions, and more complex procedures like G-tube placements and cardioversion.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Conduct low/moderate risk procedures including:
• Laceration repair
• IV access/IV insertion-peripheral line
• Fracture and dislocation reductions
• Handle high-risk procedures such as:
• G-tube placement
• Endotracheal intubation
• Cardioversion/defibrillation
• LMA, paracentesis, chest tubes
• Central and arterial line placement

Additional Information

• Must be NCCPA or ANCC certified
• Active CA license with CA NP furnishing number required
• Must have CA DEA, ACLS, ATLS certifications during credentialing; ATLS required at submission
• Availability at time of name clear required
• Must be actively working at a TJC-accredited hospital
• Local candidates preferred; no flights
• Clean Malpractice / Background highly preferred
• Cerner EMR system used
