Job Description

We are seeking a Trauma Surgery Physician Assistant for a short-term locum tenens assignment in California. This critical role begins on Aug 8, 2025, for a period of 3 days, with shifts from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. The ideal candidate will manage a range of procedures from low/moderate to high-risk cases, ensuring high standards of care.

  • Schedule: Aug 8-10, PM shift (3 p.m. to 1 a.m.)


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform low/moderate risk procedures such as laceration repair, IV access/IV insertion-peripheral line, and fracture and dislocation reductions
  • Conduct high-risk procedures including G-tube placement, endotracheal intubation, cardioversion/defibrillation, LMA, paracentesis, chest tubes, central and arterial line placement
  • Ensure adherence to all safety and health regulations
  • Maintain accurate patient records using the Cerner EMR system


Additional Information

  • Must have an active California license with CA DEA and CA NP furnishing number
  • NCCPA or ANCC certification required
  • ACLS, ATLS certifications must be current; ATLS required at submission
  • Preference for candidates currently working in a TJC-accredited hospital
