Job Description

 Wellhart is seeking an experienced Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens position in Virginia. This 36-day assignment starts on 09/01/2025 and requires coverage for varying hours throughout the week, including weekends. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a typical Urgent Care setting, capable of performing procedures such as laceration closure and incision and drainage, interpreting X-rays and EKGs, and handling Work Comp cases. DOT certification is a plus. This opportunity offers a chance for extension and requires licensure in Virginia.

Schedule: Monday - Friday: 8am - 8pm Saturday: 8am - 7pm Sunday: 8am - 5pm


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive urgent care services
  • Perform laceration closures and incision and drainage procedures
  • Interpret X-rays and EKGs
  • Handle Work Comp cases
  • Manage typical urgent care patient load and conditions
  • Utilize Practice Velocity electronic health record system


Additional Information:

  • DOT certification is beneficial
