Job Description

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Women and Adolescent Health for a locum tenens position at an Indian Health Service facility in Oklahoma. This 127-day assignment begins on June 30, 2025, with potential for extension. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a full scope of in-person women's health issues for a Native American population. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with an expected patient load of at least 20 per eight-hour workday. Any state nursing license will be accepted for this position.

Job Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide comprehensive women's health care to a Native American population 

• Manage a patient load of at least 20 per eight-hour workday 

• Examine, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients 

• Refer patients to other Indian Health Service providers and Purchase Referred Care vendors within IHS guidelines 

• Proficiently document patient encounters using the electronic medical record system 

• Complete all required administrative paperwork within 24 hours of patient visits 

• Comply with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards and administrative policies 

• Provide consultation to the Hospital Emergency Department as needed 

• Staff urgent care clinic when required 

• Address a full range of women's and adolescent health issues 

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
