Job Description

Wellhart is seeking an Anesthesiologist specializing in Cardiovascular Services for a locum tenens position in Arizona. This 60-day assignment begins on June 2, 2025, at a multi-specialty clinic. The physician will provide anesthesia coverage for the Cath Lab and CV OR rooms, working 7am to 5pm shifts Monday through Friday, with one weekend per month of home call. The full-time schedule consists of 4 shifts per week plus one weekend monthly. Responsibilities include performing TEE and central lines, managing anesthesia for cardiovascular procedures, and being available for on-call duties. The ideal candidate should have cardiac experience and be comfortable with both in-house and at-home call shifts.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide anesthesia coverage for Cardiovascular Services
• Perform transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and central line placements
• Manage anesthesia for patients undergoing cardiac procedures
• Work in both Cath Lab and CV OR settings
• Conduct pre-anesthetic assessments and develop anesthesia care plans
• Monitor and adjust anesthesia during cardiovascular procedures
• Manage post-anesthesia care and recovery for cardiac patients
• Collaborate with cardiovascular surgeons and other specialists
• Ensure proper documentation using Cerner electronic medical record system
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Adhere to clinic protocols and best practices in cardiac anesthesiology
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives as needed
• Be available for on-call duties, including home call during assigned weekends

Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice medicine in Arizona
• Board certification in Anesthesiology with cardiac experience required
• Proficiency in Cerner electronic medical record system preferred
• Strong clinical skills and decision-making abilities essential
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt to varying case loads and acuity levels
• Willingness to work both in-house and take home call as needed
