Job Description

Wellhart is seeking an experienced Hospitalist for a locum tenens position in Virginia. This opportunity offers a 20-day assignment starting 04/27/2025, with various coverage periods extending through June 30, 2025. The role involves working 12-hour night shifts from 8 PM to 8 AM. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing floor calls across several units, including medical floors, CVT Stepdown, and CVT ICU. This position also requires proficiency with Epic EMR and offers a chance for extension.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide night shift coverage as a hospitalist
• Respond to floor calls across several units
• Manage patient care in a community hospital setting
• Collaborate with day shift team and other healthcare professionals
• Utilize Epic EMR system for patient documentation and care coordination
• Adapt to a dynamic work environment with varying patient needs
• Maintain high standards of patient care and safety
• Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and work assignments

Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice in Virginia
• Comfortable working in a community hospital setting (non-trauma center)
• Experience with managing floor calls and night shift responsibilities
• Ability to work efficiently with a high patient census
• No ICU admissions or rounding required (Closed medical ICU with 24-hour Intensivist coverage)
