Wellhart is seeking a Neurocritical Care Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens position at a trauma and stroke center in Ohio. This 120-day assignment begins on 08/01/2025, with potential for extension. The schedule consists of night shifts from 6 PM to 6 AM, following either a 7-on-7-off pattern or alternating between 4 and 3 shifts per week. The NP will be responsible for rounding, consultations, and managing a diverse patient population, with approximately 40% of cases being trauma-related. Key duties include providing critical care to neurological and neurosurgical patients, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team, and utilizing the Epic electronic health record system.

Job Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide comprehensive care to critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patients 

• Conduct patient rounds and respond to consultations 

• Manage trauma cases, which comprise approximately 40% of the patient load 

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a trauma and stroke center 

• Perform neurological assessments and interpret diagnostic tests 

• Develop and implement treatment plans for complex neurological conditions 

• Monitor and manage patients' neurological status, vital signs, and life support systems 

• Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid response teams as needed 

• Utilize Epic EMR for accurate and timely documentation 

• Stay current with the latest advancements in neurocritical care

Additional Information: 

• Experience in neurocritical care and trauma management required 

• Comfort with night shifts and flexible scheduling 

• Familiarity with Epic electronic health record system preferred 

• Ohio state advanced practice nursing license required 

• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare team 

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
