Wellhart is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner specializing in Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery for a locum tenens position at a hospital in Nevada. This 36-day assignment begins on 05/19/2025, with potential for extension. The role involves full-time work Monday through Friday, with weekend call coverage. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with both inpatient and outpatient clinic coverage, as well as first assist duties in the operating room. Schedule: Monday-Friday, full-time with weekend call

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide inpatient and outpatient clinic coverage for cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients 

• Serve as first assist during surgical procedures 

• Conduct pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-ups 

• Manage patient care plans in collaboration with surgeons 

• Perform diagnostic procedures and interpret test results 

• Prescribe medications and treatments within scope of practice 

• Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and post-operative care 

• Utilize eClinicalWorks and Meditech EHR for efficient workflow management 

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions and procedures 

• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and care coordination 

• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols 

• Provide on-call coverage during assigned weekends
