Wellhart is seeking an experienced Anesthesiologist for a locum tenens position at a trauma hospital in Iowa. This 36-day assignment begins 08/01/2025, offering weekday shifts from 6 am to 3 pm with occasional weekday call from 3 pm to 6 am. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with a wide range of anesthesia procedures for both adult and pediatric patients, including general surgery, nerve blocks, regional anesthesia, thoracic cases, and complex vascular and orthopedic procedures. Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide anesthesia services for a variety of surgical procedures
• Manage both adult and pediatric cases
• Perform general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and nerve blocks
• Handle complex vascular, orthopedic, and thoracic cases
• Administer spinal and epidural anesthesia as needed
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative care
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
• Respond to trauma cases as required
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records using Cerner PowerChart
• Participate in on-call duties, including first and second call responsibilities
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives as needed
Additional Information:
• Iowa medical license required
• Board certification in Anesthesiology preferred
• Strong clinical skills and experience in a wide range of anesthesia procedures
