Job Description

Wellhart is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a locum tenens position in Illinois. This 30-day assignment begins on June 2, 2025, with shifts available Monday through Sunday from 6am to 4pm, and some on-call duties. The CRNA will manage 5-7 surgical cases per day, providing anesthesia care for a variety of procedures, including some regional blocks. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with routine anesthesia cases, excluding cardiac, neurosurgery, and complex pediatric procedures. The position involves working alongside NPs, PAs, and physicians in a collaborative environment.

Job Details: 

Location: Illinois 

Start Date: 06/02/2025 

LOA: 30 days (with potential for extension) 

Provider Type Needed: CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) 

Schedule: 6am-4pm, Monday-Sunday shifts available, estimated 10 shifts/month

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide anesthesia care for 5-7 surgical cases per day
• Perform pre-anesthetic assessments and develop anesthesia care plans
• Administer and monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures
• Conduct regional blocks when required (not mandatory)
• Manage patient care in post-anesthesia recovery
• Collaborate with surgeons, NPs, PAs, and physicians
• Ensure proper documentation using Epic electronic medical record system
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Adhere to facility protocols and best practices in anesthesiology
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives as needed
• Be available for on-call duties as scheduled
• Maintain flexibility to work various shifts throughout the week

Additional Information:

• 
  
• Must be licensed to practice as a CRNA in Illinois
• Proficiency in Epic electronic medical record system preferred
• Experience with regional blocks is beneficial but not required
• Strong clinical skills and decision-making abilities essential
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt to varying case loads and types of procedures
• Comfortable working in a collaborative environment with diverse healthcare providers
