Job Description

Wellhart is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a locum tenens position in Texas. This 120-day assignment begins on June 30, 2025, at a hospital setting. The CRNA will work 36-40 hours per week, preferably Tuesday through Friday on day shifts, with flexibility on exact scheduling. Primary responsibilities include providing anesthesia care for GI/IR procedures, with some work in the OR for routine cases such as colorectal and gynecologic oncology surgeries as needed. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in diverse clinical settings and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Provide anesthesia care for GI/IR procedures
  • Administer anesthesia for routine OR cases as needed (e.g., colorectal, gynecologic oncology)
  • Perform pre-anesthetic assessments and develop anesthesia care plans
  • Monitor patient vital signs and adjust anesthesia as necessary during procedures
  • Manage patient care in post-anesthesia recovery
  • Collaborate with gastroenterologists, interventional radiologists, and surgeons
  • Ensure proper documentation using Epic electronic medical record system
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Adhere to hospital protocols and best practices in anesthesiology
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives as needed
  • Maintain flexibility to work in various clinical settings within the hospital


Additional Information:


  • Must be licensed to practice as a CRNA in Texas
  • Proficiency in Epic electronic medical record system required
  • Experience in GI/IR anesthesia preferred
  • Strong clinical skills and decision-making abilities essential
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt to different procedural environments and case types
