Job Description

 Wellhart is seeking a skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a locum tenens position in Texas. This 120-day assignment, starting 09/01/2025, offers the opportunity to work as a float CRNA across multiple hospital facilities. The schedule consists of 4 non-consecutive 10-hour shifts per week, with occasional 12-hour shifts available, providing full-time coverage. The role involves administering anesthesia for various cases including Orthopedics, Urology, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, and Gynecology under medical direction. As a locum tenens provider, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality anesthesia care, collaborating with healthcare teams across different facilities, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes in diverse surgical environments.

Schedule: 4x10 non-consecutive shifts, occasional 12-hour shifts, minimum 3-week commitment


Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide anesthesia care for patients undergoing various surgical procedures

• Float between multiple facilities as needed

• Conduct pre-anesthetic assessments and develop appropriate anesthesia plans

• Administer and monitor anesthesia during procedures

• Manage patient recovery and post-anesthesia care

• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals across different facilities

• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Cerner/Medaxion/Epic systems

• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures

• Stay current with the latest advancements in anesthesiology

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives

• Educate patients and families about anesthesia procedures and risks


Additional Information:

• Must be a licensed Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

• Active Texas medical license required

• Experience with Cerner, Medaxion, and Epic EMR systems preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Flexibility to adapt to varying patient needs, OR schedules, and different facility environments

• Commitment to a minimum of 3 weeks of coverage

• Willingness to float between Northeast Baptist, Baptist Medical Center, and North Central Baptist
