Wellhart is seeking a skilled Anesthesiologist for a locum tenens position in Iowa. This 120-day assignment at a hospital begins 06/30/2025, with potential for extension. The role involves weekday coverage from 6:30a - 4:30p, with additional weekend call responsibilities. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with general anesthesia, including OB (with TOLAC) and healthy pediatric patients, as well as conscious sedation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment using the Epic system, with flexibility for full-time or part-time availability.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30a - 4:30p and some weekend call as needed

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide anesthesia services for a variety of surgical procedures 

• Perform pre-operative evaluations and monitor patient care during surgery 

• Administer general anesthesia and conscious sedation as required 

• Handle obstetric anesthesia, including for TOLAC patients 

• Manage anesthesia for healthy pediatric patients, primarily for tonsils and adenoids 

• Participate in weekend call rotation (1st, 2nd call) 

• Utilize the Epic system for efficient workflow management 

• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes 

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all procedures and patient interactions 

• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols 

• Supervise other anesthesia providers as needed

Additional Information: 

• Must be licensed to practice in Iowa 

• Familiarity with Epic system is preferred 

• Strong adaptability to new work environments and team dynamics

• No cardiac or neurosurgery cases involved
