We are seeking a qualified Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner for a challenging and rewarding locum tenens assignment in Illinois, focusing on critical care in an ICU environment. This 30-day position starts on Oct 1, 2025, and involves managing complex cardiovascular conditions. The Nurse Practitioner will work day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, handling an array of high-acuity procedures and patient care responsibilities.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage ventilators, vasopressors/inotropes, and various medications.
• Oversee the care of patients on VV/VA ECMO, IABP, Impella, and post-transplant.
• Independent management of central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, and intubations.
• Conduct frequent rounds with surgeons and nursing staff.
• Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team including CV ICU surgeons and charge RNs.
• Perform procedures such as central line and arterial line insertions/removals, chest tube management, and pacing wire management.

Additional Information

• Must be board certified in Cardiovascular Disease.
• Active Illinois state license and DEA certification are required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications needed.
• Experience with Epic EMR system.
