We are seeking a skilled Physician specializing in Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery for a 24-day locum tenens assignment in Colorado. This opportunity involves providing call coverage at a multi-specialty clinic, primarily on weekends with some sporadic weekday coverage. The assignment starts on 09/01/2025, with 24-hour shifts from 6 AM to 6 AM. The surgeon will be responsible for a wide range of procedures, including general CV/Thoracic surgery, coronary artery bypass surgery, congenital defect repairs, valvular repair and replacement, aneurysm repair, and ECMO cannulation. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with trauma cases and providing clinical oversight in an ICU setting.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide on-call coverage for cardiovascular and thoracic surgical emergencies
• Perform a wide range of cardiac and thoracic procedures
• Manage trauma cases as needed
• Supervise and provide clinical oversight in the ICU
• Conduct ECMO cannulation and stabilize patients for transport to academic centers
• Evaluate and manage acute volume and blood pressure issues
• Insert central lines, arterial lines, PA catheters, and IABPs as required
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
• Utilize Epic EMR system for documentation and patient management
Additional Information:
• Valid Colorado state license required
• Experience in trauma centers preferred
• Familiarity with Epic EMR system is beneficial
• Must be comfortable working independently as the sole thoracic surgeon on call
