Wellhart is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeon for a locum tenens position in Ohio. This assignment begins on 06/13/2025, with 24-hour call shifts from 7 AM to 7 AM. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with a wide range of procedures, including coronary artery bypass surgery, congenital defects, valve procedures, aneurysm repairs, lung resections, and various thoracic and vascular surgeries. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic hospital setting using the Epic EMR system.

Provider Type Needed: Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeon 

Schedule: 24-hour call shifts, 7 AM to 7 AM

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Perform a wide range of cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgeries 

• Conduct coronary artery bypass surgeries and valvular repairs/replacements 

• Address congenital heart defects and perform aneurysm repairs 

• Execute lung resections, including video-assisted thoracoscopic surgeries (VATS) 

• Manage chest wall, pleural, esophageal, and diaphragmatic procedures 

• Provide 24-hour on-call coverage for emergent cases 

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care 

• Utilize the Epic system for efficient workflow management 

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all procedures and patient interactions 

• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols

Additional Information: 

• Must be licensed to practice in Ohio 

• Familiarity with Epic system is preferred 

• Strong adaptability to new work environments and team dynamics 

• Excellent communication skills and commitment to high-quality patient care 

• Practice focuses on 100% adult patients in a hospital setting 

• Will work alongside one physician and two mid-level providers
