Job Description

Wellhart is seeking a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens position at a multi-specialty clinic in Pennsylvania. This 60-day assignment begins on June 2, 2025, offering flexible shift schedules ranging from 6 AM to 1 AM the following day. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a non-trauma designated facility with 7% pediatric cases. The role involves managing a diverse range of emergency cases, collaborating with a team of 2-6 providers depending on the time and day, and utilizing the Sunrise Clinical Manager system. This opportunity provides a chance for extension and requires an active Pennsylvania medical license.


Job Details: 

Location: Pennsylvania

Provider Type Needed: Emergency Medicine Physician 

Schedule: Flexible shifts ranging from 6 AM to 1 AM


Job Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide emergency medical care to patients of all ages, including pediatric cases 

• Perform rapid assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses and injuries 

• Manage critical care patients and coordinate admissions when necessary 

• Collaborate with a team of 2-6 providers during shifts 

• Utilize Sunrise Clinical Manager for patient documentation and management 

• Adapt to varying shift schedules and maintain flexibility in work hours 

• Conduct appropriate diagnostic tests and interpret results 

• Prescribe medications and treatments as needed 

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals 

• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures 

• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records


Additional Information: 

• Must be board-certified in Emergency Medicine 

• Active Pennsylvania medical license required 

• Experience in high-volume emergency departments preferred 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
