Nurse Practitioner - Family Practice

Job Description

We are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner for a 26-week locum tenens assignment in Illinois starting in early July. This facility focuses on a holistic lifestyle medicine approach with patients, primarily suffering from chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. This role requires a practitioner who can operate independently. Applicants should be able to work Mondays and Tuesdays, 10-hour shifts from 7am to 5pm.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage a caseload of 10-13 patients per day, focusing on chronic illnesses like diabetes and hypertension
• Conduct 30-minute routine appointments and 15-minute acute visits
• Provide monthly follow-ups for weight loss management
• Perform annual physicals and sports physicals for children
• Address common acute issues such as colds, coughs, and flu
• Utilize holistic lifestyle medicine practices to enhance patient care
• Work collaboratively with a support team including clinic nurses, receptionists, a health and wellness nurse, and a physical therapist

Additional Information

• Must hold Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)
• Required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong communication skills and PC knowledge are highly valued
• Must be licensed to practice independently in Illinois
