Job Description

We are seeking a Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens assignment in Maine. This role focuses on providing specialized gastrointestinal care, including advanced procedures such as lower and upper GI endoscopy. The selected candidate will work within an established schedule, contributing to both outpatient and inpatient settings, emphasizing high-quality patient care.

Job Details
  • Location: Maine
  • Start Date: Aug 18, 2025
  • LOA: 90 days
  • Provider Type Needed: Gastroenterologist
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour day with a 30-minute lunch

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform advanced gastrointestinal procedures including:
  • Lower GI Endoscopy
  • Sigmoidoscopy
  • Colonoscopy
  • Conduct types of upper GI endoscopy including:
  • Biopsy
  • Foreign Body Removal
  • Banding of Varices
  • Diagnostic
  • Engage in endoscopic procedures in the OR and clinical settings

Additional Information
  • Must be board-certified in Gastroenterology
  • Valid ME medical license or ability to obtain licensure
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS
  • COVID and flu vaccine required at the time of name clearance
  • Proficiency with the Epic EMR system
