We are seeking a skilled Gastroenterologist for a 14-day locum tenens position at a Level II Trauma hospital in South Carolina. This assignment covers two separate weeks: June 9-16 and November 24 - December 1, 2025, with 24-hour on-call shifts. The ideal candidate will be proficient in a wide range of gastroenterological procedures, including colonoscopy, liver biopsy, esophageal dilatation/manometry, lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and various types of upper GI endoscopy. This role requires an active South Carolina license and proficiency with Epic EMR. There is also potential for extension beyond the initial assignment period.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide 24-hour on-call gastroenterology coverage
• Perform a variety of gastroenterological procedures, including: Colonoscopy; Liver biopsy; Esophageal dilatation and manometry; Lower GI endoscopy; Sigmoidoscopy; Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, and fulguration of bleeding
• Interpret esophageal manometry results
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in a Level II Trauma setting
• Ensure high-quality patient care and safety
• Utilize Epic EMR for patient documentation
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures
Required Qualifications:
• Board-certified or board-eligible Gastroenterologist
• Active South Carolina state medical license
• Proficiency in all required gastroenterological procedures
• Experience working in a trauma hospital setting
• Comfort with 24-hour on-call shifts
• Proficiency in Epic EMR
