Job Description

 Wellhart is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner specializing in Neonatology for a locum tenens position at a multi-specialty clinic in New York. This 32-day assignment begins on 08/18/2025, with a flexible schedule of 12 and/or 24-hour shifts, primarily focused on weekend coverage. The NP will work in a NICU, providing comprehensive care for neonates, including ventilation management, invasive procedures, and attending C-sections. Responsibilities include coverage of a NICU unit and well-baby care during night shifts. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with a wide range of neonatal procedures and possess strong clinical skills in managing acute neonatal conditions.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide comprehensive care in a NICU setting

• Manage ventilation, including invasive (ETT) and non-invasive (BiPAP/CPAP) methods

• Perform procedures such as chest tube insertion, exchange transfusions, and UAC/UVC placement

• Conduct lumbar punctures and manage acute volume/BP issues

• Insert central and arterial lines

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic taps

• Attend C-sections as required

• Cover Well-Baby Nursery during night shifts

• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

• Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and patient care management


Additional Information:

• New York license required

• Experience in NICU settings preferred

• Comfortable with a range of neonatal procedures and acute care management

• No transport requirements

• Flexibility in shift scheduling (7a-7p, 9a-9p, or 7a-7a)

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
