 Wellhart is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant specializing in Neurological Surgery for a 30-day locum tenens assignment at a Hospital in Michigan. Starting on 08/04/2025, this opportunity offers in-house coverage from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., with weekend coverage required every 4th week. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Trauma Center with Comprehensive Stroke designation. Responsibilities include rounding, consults, postoperative care, and simple suture for minor laceration repair. The role requires a basic understanding of acute neurosurgical and stroke emergencies, ICU care, neurosurgical elective procedures, and postoperative management. Proficiency with eCare/Cerner EMR system is necessary.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide in-house coverage for neurological surgery patients

• Perform rounds, consults, and manage postoperative care

• Conduct simple suture procedures for minor laceration repair

• Manage acute neurosurgical and stroke emergencies

• Provide ICU care for neurosurgical patients

• Assist with neurosurgical elective procedures

• Handle postoperative management of neurological surgery patients

• Utilize eCare/Cerner EMR system for documentation and patient management

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a Trauma Center setting

Additional Information:

• Experience in a Comprehensive Stroke designation facility preferred

• Must be comfortable working in a high-acuity environment
