Job Description

 Wellhart is seeking an experienced OB/GYN physician for a locum tenens position at a hospital in Ohio. This 20-day assignment is split across multiple periods from July to December 2025, with 24-hour call shifts from 8am to 8am the following day. The physician will provide comprehensive OB/GYN care, including ER/GYN and Labor & Delivery call coverage. Responsibilities include managing a mix of gynecological and obstetric cases, performing 1-4 gynecological surgeries per day, and handling C-sections (15-35% of deliveries). The role involves working in a facility with LDRP beds, postpartum beds, and a triage bed, collaborating with 2 physicians and 5 CNMs, and managing 2-5 nursery admissions daily.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide 24-hour on-call coverage for OB/GYN services

• Manage Labor & Delivery cases, including C-sections

• Perform gynecological surgeries (1-4 per day)

• Handle ER/GYN consultations and emergencies

• Oversee postpartum care and nursery admissions

• Collaborate with existing physicians and CNMs

• Utilize Epic electronic health record system

• Adapt to varying patient volumes and acuity levels

• Ensure high-quality patient care and optimal outcomes

• Participate in multidisciplinary team approach to patient care
