 Wellhart is seeking a Medical Oncologist for a locum tenens position at a healthcare facility in Illinois. This 45-day assignment begins on 07/01/2025, with a potential for extension. The schedule consists of Monday through Friday 12-hour day shifts, starting at 7:30 AM, with no weekend coverage required. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing direct patient care, including consultations, admissions, and follow-up care, as well as conducting hospital rounds as needed. The oncologist will collaborate closely with in-practice Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) for various patient management tasks. Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide direct patient care, including consultations, admissions, and follow-up care

• Conduct hospital rounds as needed

• Collaborate with in-practice Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) for consults, follow-ups, orders, and patient management

• Utilize Epic EHR system for patient documentation and management

• Adhere to facility policies and procedures

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of oncology best practices and advancements

• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and care team meetings as required

• Ensure high-quality, patient-centered care in all interactions

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Illinois

• Experience with Epic EHR is preferred

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential
