Job Description

 We are seeking a skilled Physician Assistant specializing in Orthopedic Surgery for a locum tenens position in Iowa. This 60-day assignment begins on 08/11/2025, at a Multi-Specialty Clinic. The role requires coverage from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with weeknight call. No weekend work is required. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements, as well as hand, wrist, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, and foot surgical procedures. Experience in trauma injuries, fracture care, sports medicine, and other orthopedic disorders is essential. The position involves mainly consults and requires proficiency in Centricity and Epic systems. This opportunity offers comprehensive orthopedic care in a clinic setting, with a potential for extension beyond the initial assignment period.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist in total hip, knee, and shoulder replacement procedures

• Participate in hand, wrist, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, and foot surgical procedures

• Manage trauma injuries, fracture care, and sports medicine cases

• Conduct pre-operative assessments and develop treatment plans

• Provide post-operative care and follow-up

• Perform consultations and evaluate patients

• Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons and other healthcare professionals

• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Centricity and Epic systems

• Adhere to all clinic policies, procedures, and safety protocols

• Stay current with the latest advancements in orthopedic surgery

• Manage weeknight call duties as required


Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice in Iowa

• Experience with Centricity and Epic systems is required

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Flexibility to manage both regular shifts and weeknight call schedules
