Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner specializing in Orthopedics for a locum tenens position at a Multi-Specialty Clinic in Maine. This opportunity offers full-time coverage, Monday through Friday, with both office and OR hours. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing general orthopedics cases for a high patient volume. This role also offers potential for assignment extension.

Provider Type Needed: Nurse Practitioner - Orthopedics 

Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday office/OR hours


Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide comprehensive orthopedic care in both office and hospital settings 

• Manage a high volume of patients, approximately 60 per week in the office 

• Assist in surgical procedures as needed 

• Conduct patient evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans 

• Perform follow-up care and monitor patient progress 

• Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons and other healthcare team members 

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records 

• Educate patients on orthopedic conditions and treatment options 

• Participate in a fast-paced, patient-focused practice environment


Additional Information: 

• Must be licensed to practice in Maine 

• Strong clinical skills in orthopedics required 

• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume setting 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

• Comfortable with both clinical and surgical responsibilities
