Wellhart is seeking a Pathologist for a locum tenens position at a hospital in Georgia. This 120-day assignment starts on 07/01/2025, with a flexible Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The position involves a range of anatomic pathology procedures, including surgical pathology, GI pathology, GU pathology, neuropathology, hematopathology, cytology, and autopsy. The pathologist will also be responsible for blood bank/organ procurement call and frozen sections on a rotating basis. Weekend coverage is required every two weeks, with rotating call duties for weeknights and weekends. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with the Epic Beaker system and have a strong background in various pathology subspecialties.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Perform and interpret a wide range of anatomic pathology procedures
• Handle surgical pathology, GI pathology, GU pathology, neuropathology, and hematopathology cases
• Conduct bone marrow aspirations/biopsies and interpret results
• Perform cytology examinations and autopsies as needed
• Manage blood bank responsibilities and organ procurement (rare occurrences)
• Provide frozen section interpretations
• Review specimens from technicians that require pathologist review
• Participate in weekend coverage every two weeks
• Handle rotating call duties for weeknights and weekends
• Utilize Epic Beaker system for laboratory information management
• Collaborate with hospital staff and other healthcare professionals
• Maintain high standards of diagnostic accuracy and patient care
• Adhere to all hospital and department policies and procedures
