Job Description

Wellhart is seeking a skilled Radiation Oncologist for a locum position in Iowa. This 120-day assignment at a hospital begins on 05/26/2025, with potential for extension. The role involves working Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with no call responsibilities. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with a range of radiation therapy procedures, including IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, and Stereotactic Radiosurgery. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment using the Aria system, treating 20-25 outpatients daily and occasional inpatients. 


Job Details:

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM


Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide comprehensive radiation oncology services to outpatients and occasional inpatients 

• Perform various radiation therapy procedures, including Conventional Radiotherapy, 3D Radiotherapy, IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, and Stereotactic Radiosurgery 

• Conduct patient consultations, weekly treatment visits, and follow-ups 

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for cancer patients 

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care 

• Utilize the Aria system for efficient workflow management 

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all procedures and patient interactions 

• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols 

• Participate in tumor boards and other cancer care meetings as required


Additional Information: 

• Must be licensed to practice in Iowa 

• Familiarity with Aria system is preferred 

• Strong adaptability to new work environments and team dynamics 

• Excellent communication skills and commitment to high-quality patient care 

• Ability to work in 4-week continuous blocks with potential breaks between blocks 

• No call responsibilities
