Wellhart has your next locum job! This position requires a Trauma Surgeon to provide 24-hour call coverage at a Trauma Center. The assignment is set to begin 05/26/2025, with a 15-day duration and potential for extension. The surgeon will be responsible for managing trauma patients, performing procedures such as exploratory laparotomies, appendectomies, small bowel resuscitation, incision and drainage of abscesses, and soft tissue infection debridement.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide 24-hour in-house hospital call coverage
• Manage and treat trauma patients as the primary responsible physician
• Perform trauma-related surgical procedures, including exploratory laparotomies
• Conduct acute care surgeries such as appendectomies and small bowel resuscitation
• Perform incision and drainage of abscesses and debridement of soft tissue infections
• Utilize Cerner electronic health record system
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care
• Adhere to hospital protocols and maintain high standards of patient safety

Additional Information:

• California medical license required
• Experience in Trauma Centers preferred
• Comfort with a wide range of trauma and acute care surgical procedures essential
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
