Job Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide immediate assessment, resuscitation, and care for trauma patients
• Perform emergency and elective surgical procedures related to trauma care
• Manage adult and geriatric trauma cases, including penetrating and blunt traumas
• Conduct chest tube insertions and other critical care procedures
• Perform laparoscopic procedures, including appendectomies and cholecystectomies
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in the trauma care unit
• Participate in trauma team activations and lead resuscitation efforts
• Ensure proper documentation and use of the Epic electronic health record system
• Provide on-call coverage during assigned shifts
Additional Information:
• Experience in Trauma Center required
• Proficiency in managing complex trauma cases, including adult and geriatric patients
• Expertise in both penetrating and blunt trauma management
• Laparoscopic surgery skills, particularly for appendectomies and cholecystectomies
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health record system preferred
• Connecticut state medical license required
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
