We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Physician Assistant for a critical care role in an ICU setting in Illinois, starting Oct 1, 2025. This 3-month locum tenens assignment involves managing a robust cardiac post-operative ICU environment with 12-hour shifts from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in handling complex cardiovascular cases, contributing to high standards of patient care.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage ventilators, vasopressors/inotropes, and medications.
• Handle arrhythmias, VV/VA ECMO, IABP, Impella, post-transplant, and VAD.
• Perform central line insertion, arterial line insertion, chest tube insertion/removal, and intubations.
• Independently manage EVH sites, sternotomy sites, and pacing wires.
• Conduct daily rounds with surgeons and charge RNs and provide frequent updates to nursing staff.
• Work closely with three CV ICU surgeons and collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
