Job Responsibilities and Duties:
• Perform adult cardiac surgeries, including CABG and heart valve repair/replacement
• Conduct general thoracic procedures such as thoracotomy lung resections and pneumonectomy
• Manage complex cases including aortic dissections and ECMO placement
• Carry out tube thoracostomies and pericardial windows
• Provide pre-operative assessments and post-operative care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Utilize Epic electronic health record system for documentation
• Participate in on-call rotations as required
• Stay current with the latest advancements in cardiothoracic surgery techniques
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations
Additional Information:
• Must be licensed to practice medicine in Idaho
• Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery required
• Experience with both VA and VV ECMO placement preferred
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients in critical care settings
