Wellhart is seeking a skilled Hematologist/Oncologist for a locum tenens position in Iowa. This 120-day assignment at a hospital setting begins on 06/23/2025, with potential for extension. The role involves working Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with 16 shifts per month. The physician will be responsible for consults, follow-up care, bone marrow biopsies, and overseeing the administration of antineoplastics in the clinic. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment using the Epic EMR system.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care to patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings 

• Conduct patient consultations and follow-up appointments 

• Oversee the administration of antineoplastics in the clinic 

• Perform procedures including phlebotomies, IV IgG administration, iron therapy, and bone marrow biopsies 

• Manage inpatient care at two medical centers as needed 

• Participate in on-call rotation (one week and one weekend per month) 

• Utilize the Epic system for efficient workflow management 

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care 

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all procedures and patient interactions 

• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols

Additional Information: 

• Must be licensed to practice in Iowa 

• Familiarity with Epic system is preferred
