 Wellhart is seeking a Hematologist/Oncologist for a locum tenens position at a hospital in Virginia. This 60-day assignment starts on 07/21/2025, with a Monday to Friday schedule from 8am to 5pm. The role primarily involves inpatient care, with some outpatient coverage to fill in during physician vacations. The ideal candidate should be comfortable handling a range of "bread and butter" hematology and oncology cases in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The position requires proficiency in using the Epic electronic health record system and the ability to provide comprehensive care for hematology and oncology patients.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide inpatient hematology and oncology care

• Cover outpatient clinics during physician vacations

• Diagnose and treat various hematologic and oncologic conditions

• Develop and implement treatment plans for patients

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams

• Utilize the Epic electronic health record system

• Ensure high-quality patient care and safety

• Adhere to all hospital and department policies and procedures

• Maintain accurate and timely medical records

• Participate in rounds and patient consultations as needed

• Stay updated on current hematology and oncology practices and treatments
