Job Description

 Wellhart is seeking an experienced Vascular/Interventional Radiologist for a locum tenens position in the Tampa area of Florida. This 100-day assignment begins on 07/21/2025, with a potential for extension. The ideal candidate will work Monday through Friday, with shifts varying between 7 AM to 4 PM or 8 AM to 5 PM, depending on the location. The physician will be credentialed at several facilities in the Tampa area. The role requires a full set of interventional radiology skills, with the ability to perform 6-12 procedures daily. Key responsibilities include conducting a wide range of interventional procedures such as GI bleed embolizations, IVC filter placements, HD catheter insertions, chemo port placements, and various image-guided interventions. The successful candidate should be comfortable with a high-volume, diverse caseload and adaptable to different healthcare settings.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform a full range of interventional radiology procedures (6-12 cases daily)
  • Conduct GI bleed embolizations and IVC filter placements/retrievals
  • Insert temporary and permanent HD catheters and chemo ports
  • Place central vein catheters, nephrostomy tubes, and ureteral stents
  • Perform percutaneous cholecystostomy tube and biliary stent placements
  • Insert gastrostomy tubes and perform vertebroplasty procedures
  • Conduct bone biopsies and arthrograms
  • Perform steroid injections and place access drains (CT and ultrasound-guided)
  • Insert chest tubes and Pleurex catheters
  • Carry out paracentesis, thoracentesis, and CT/ultrasound-guided biopsies
  • Adapt to various healthcare settings within the Tampa area
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records
