Wellhart is seeking a highly qualified Psychiatrist for a locum tenens position at a healthcare corporation in Georgia. This comprehensive role offers 114 days of coverage, starting from 07/14/2025. The schedule involves working 8-hour shifts, typically from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, five days a week. The psychiatrist will provide a wide range of mental health services for veterans, including diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and individual psychotherapy. Key responsibilities include treating various mental health conditions, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and participating in both inpatient and outpatient care. There is also potential for extension beyond the initial assignment.

Job Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop treatment plans 

• Provide medication management for various mental health conditions 

• Perform individual psychotherapy sessions 

• Assess and manage high-risk patients with complex psychiatric and medical conditions 

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams 

• Participate in inpatient care duties, including admissions, treatment, and discharges 

• Manage outpatient care, including new patient referrals and follow-ups 

• Provide telehealth assessments and consultations as needed 

• Supervise mid-level providers and other staff as appropriate 

• Maintain accurate and timely medical records using CPRS 

• Participate in peer review and quality improvement activities 

• Manage a caseload of approximately 6 to 6.5 bookable patient hours per day 

• Provide expertise for peer review of selected cases, including tort claims and benefit appeals

Additional Information: 

• Must be licensed to practice in any state 

• Experience in treating veterans and military-related mental health issues preferred 

• Proficiency in using CPRS (Computerized Patient Record System) required 

• Flexibility to work in various settings, including outpatient clinics and inpatient units 

• Potential for assignment extension
